Hunterdon County, New Jersey (9 March 2025) – “Davidson House Spirits”
is a short story about a ghost skeptic whose refusal to believe in
spirits has consequences.
The central character, JK Steffens, a spirit breaker, has claimed
victory in the annual paranormal claims debunking contest of the
Tri-county Investigative Association for Research on Beings of
Otherworldly Origins in Hunterdon County, New Jersey.
“I recorded an entire session,” bragged Steffens, “and got all the proof!
The Davidson House spirits are a fraud.”
The members burst into a roaring rendition of the chorus from their
theme song titled “Probably Not”:
Phantoms
Being rampant?
Spooks, frights,
Bumps in your nights?
Voices,
Rat’ling noises?
Bangs, clangs,
Or things with fangs?
Got ghosts?
PROBABLY NOT!
They finished with the traditional chant of “BOO! BOO! BOO!” which was
the nickname of the Beings of Otherworldly Origins.
